Welcome to my new Hermitcraft blog post! This time, I'm penning the journey of some of my favourite hermits: xBCrafted!
Please note that I've contributed my writing to various platforms, including Hermitcraft's Reddit wiki and hermitcraft.fandom. So if you noticed some similarities, bear in mind that they are written by the same author, which is me!
"I see. Now I cannot accuse you of plagiarising, huh?"
Exactly. Even if you do, I wouldn't mind because it's still me :P Without further ado...
Let's get xBCrafted ball rolling!
Hmm... I intended to create my own pun by mixing "get the ball rolling" and "xBCrafted". Please don't overthink this.
xBCrafted has the most uploads for the season, recording a whopping total of 148 episodes! This blog post will cover the major events:
What defines a major event? Events with the most LOLs!
"You're so mean..."
xBCrafted returned to Hermitcraft Season 7 after a very brief Season 6.
The moment xBCrafted stepped foot on the server, he travelled 10,000 blocks away from the spawn point and other hermits.
"That's... very friendly of him?"
He definitely is! As his best pal puts it accurately and I quote:
"xB is playing on a different server... in a galaxy far, far away." -Keralis, S6
Compliments aside, xB was after the shattered savanna biome, one of the rare biomes in Minecraft. The long travel was to realise his vision of the season:
A Zombie Post-Apocalyptic build... in vanilla Minecraft!
Throughout the season, xB had raised an entire town of various districts (residential, industrial, agricultural etc.) These zones were complete with basic infrastructure and facilities. What sort of facilities, you ask? A water treatment centre, petrol station, playground, prison, you name it.
Following the invasion storyline, he mapped out a survival campsite. He then tested his design pragmatism by roleplaying as a survivor, emulating the daily activities and possible zombie encounters.
"That dedication!"
There's more! Keeping true to his vision of zombie invasion, these “new” facilities were designed with dilapidated, contaminated looks. These were illustrated via new Nether blocks' of contrasting colour and textures.
Attention for detail with underlying story/history gives more life to any Minecraft build.
As a final touch to his post-apocalyptic theme, he commissioned Zombie Cleo to create armour stand scenes.
xB then designed his megabase to be embedded in an existing floating mountain structure. Sculpted as a disk, this futuristic base hovered above the zombie-infested town. This base was complete with storage and a rooftop garden. He commissioned another hermit, ImpulseSV to transport guardians into his mega-base.
"Guardians? I'm not sure if he's bold or foolish..."
Well, he is the architect of zombie invasions. To say he loves danger is an understatement.
"Fair enough. Does he own any shops? I know Season 7 has a centralised shopping district."
They do! xB's first and only shop of the season was...
The Red Zone, a redstone Shop
The architecture took the form of a Minecraft redstone repeater. However, a Town Hall was later built behind it, prompting a relocation to a corner of the Shopping District.
"Aw... he moved his shop? He should have moved the Town Hall instead."
I know right? Even BDoubleO100 (Bdubs for short), one of the architects of the Town Hall, agreed with the idea!
By the way, we don't talk about all the re-stocking and re-supplying labour. Because if you do, he will wrestle you up.
Hermit Wrestling Federation (HWF): it's WWE on Hermitcraft SMP!
xB was recruited by iJevin to wrestle against Rendog's team... all because iJevin stole Rendog's cow. *talk about drama LOL* Although his team lost, xB was the only hermit with two consecutive kills.
"That's impressive! Is he a PVP master?"
xbCrafted is among the top-tier PVP-ers on the server, hands down. Fun fact, he built this within the first 5 minutes of an episode:
The PVP Arena in conjunction with Zombie Cleo’s Head Games!
Now bear with me as I geek out my architecture vibes here...
The design of this arena was akin to IRL combat training grounds. It had uneven topography to allow upper, lower, and underground traverse.
Barricades and trapdoors were provided for attack, defence and stealth purposes. The choice of weapons encompassed both long-ranged (bow and arrow) and short-ranged (melee sword).
xB then commissioned Etho to install anvil droppers and distraction armour stands that popped up at random timing.
As I've described in my introduction to Hermitcraft, the hermits work hard, they play even harder:
xBCrafted is a Mini-Games Maniac!
Indeed, this American Minecraft Youtuber is a frequent mini-gamer of the server. xB was a loyal customer of the Cubfan135’s Targét, Iskall85’s Treasure Island and the Netherlands Gaming District. He contributed to the latter his archery mini-game, 'Block!'.
Every gamer has a gaming buddy. For xB, it is the big-eyed Keralis. The two blokes played countless mini-games together, sometimes with bets involved. There was a moment they wagered real estate.
"???"
They both owned towns and cities anyway. Losing one property or plot is no big deal.
The highlight of his mini-gaming, however, is:
xBCrafted absolutely smashed Tango Tek's Decked Out! Literally!!
"This is exciting! Decked Out... wait. What do you mean by literally?"
So hear me out: being a mini-gamer, xB explored every nook and cranny of the dungeon!
The majority of his runs were either not following the compass, ravaged by ravagers, or died without setting his spawn in the spawn room.
His artefact board was decorated in the minimalist style of emptiness. After a long while, he finally won a rare item: a bottle of XP! xB happily ran to his board and smashed the bottle instead of placing it in the item frames.
Told you he was absolutely smashing it! *evil laugh*
"Now I know why you titled it that way. Did he ask for a replacement from Tango?"
I'm sure he did. After all, this bloke is a smooth talker. So smooth that he was elected as...
The Mycelium Resistance's Head of Recruitment! It's Turf War time!
"Turf War! The battle of grass and mycelium in the Shopping District!"
Yup! xBCrafted was on the Mycelium Resistance side. Grian made xB the Head of Recruitment, and the next day iJevin and Mumbo were enlisted! The process was so smooth, Grian thought he's a Mycelium impostor!
"This cod boy played too much Among Us."
I have two more incidents to prove xBCrafted's silky smooth tongue:
xB once tried sweet-talking Keralis to join the Resistance. Keralis' response was his face: surprise! This *booshes* man attempted to outsmart xB to spill the Resistance's details. You guessed it: xB's cruised his way through, leaving zero information for Keralis!
Next, xB tried recruiting VintageBeef (or Beef for short). Beef seized the opportunity to coax xB to join the mighty podzol instead... and was backfired when the response was:
Podzol looked like poop.
"Huh. I cannot unsee it now."
Same. The best bit? xB managed to make Beef agree with his poopy statement! The entire conversation was so spontaneous and clever; I cannot help but edit it on my Instagram:
Turf War Finale
Turf War was resolved via mini-games. xB played four mini-games in total: one lost, three wins. Some notable moments:
Xisuma’s Dodgeball is a mini-game of dodgeball using harm potions. xB had a brief Internet disconnectivity halfway through, leading to Grian's tease of “the best dodge [is] by leaving the game.” xB was among the last remaining hermits for all 3 rounds, and secured the mycelium Resistance's first win.
Etho’s RipZone was a mini-game of collecting cods' and opponents’ heads using riptide tridents. xB had multiple consecutive kills, contributing to Mycelium’s third win with a collective, hefty 117 points.
xBCrafted finally launched his Plushie on makeship... Aww yeah!
xB launched his merch: a plushie of his Minecraft character. His marketing strategy was retexturising the Minecraft totem of undying to his plushie: look how cute it is!
Oh, he also changed the totem’s sound effects to his trademark “Awww yeah”. He successfully sold 520 plushies!
"Awww yeah!!!"
HCBBS: Hermitcraft Big Base Swap
Like any gullible adult, xB gave out his details to an unknown machine claiming to be HCBBS. After the HCBBS was officially revealed, xB exchanged his base with JoeHills' vineyard, the Wizard of Wines Winery.
Here, xBCrafted's approach was introducing tourism and commerce. His improvement works include revamping part of the vineyard and designing a new cellar, wine-tasting outdoor decks, etc.
They say all good times have to come to an end. As for xBCrafted, he got stoned... pretty high up too!
xB marked the end of his Hermitcraft Season 7 journey by engraving his face on Mount Scarmore. Can you recognise him among the hermits?
"I absolutely love what you did with the title. And yes, I spotted him immediately... those dazzling cyan eyes!"
Indeed. What a journey it had been!
What's next?
I hope this blog post offered a brief insight into xBCrafted's awesomeness and encouraged you to watch him! Enjoy his Hermitcraft Season 7 playlist and till then, goodbye!
