What is Hermitcraft? What is Empires?
Hermitcraft and Empires are Minecraft SMP, currently running on their 9th and 2nd seasons respectively.
Both Minecraft servers have unique charms, quirks and playstyles, most notably being family-friendly and building-focused.

Other than their respective SMP, many of them were once part of another series such as Grian's Life Series (3rd Life, Last Life, Double Life).
The best bit? They are IRL best friends! If you follow them on Twitter, you could see them having overseas trips together... the latest one is attending fwhip's wedding! IRL, not Minecraft wedding/wife!!!
What's this Crossover about?
It all started when a mysterious structure appeared on the Empires SMP, which is oddly familiar:
"Uh... It does look like Grian's rift. But it could be just the design though? You know, the conventional layered glass and end rods trick?"
That's what I thought too... until Grian found a button in front of his Rift. Oh well, Grian being Grian, always pushing buttons (and everyone else's LOL). His rift now transformed into a portal... guess what he did next?
He sent in a TNT... and the server glitched.
It isn't even a split second! I would say it's a mere 0.1 second because I only noticed it when I edited the scene in 10% slow mode!
Sure enough, this purple structure in Empires is now a portal.
Sausage (Mythical Sausage) paid it a visit and mumbled his usual sausagy words.
Lizzie (LDShadowLady), meanwhile, sent in her fox villager and cried for fwhip's help when it did not return.
"Guess the "don't interact with strangers" advise doesn't work in Empires..."
Exactly. fwhip then claimed he heard an explosion when he passed by the "rift". Keyword? Explosion! TNT!
Next, we have fwhip sending off his boar named Sniff into the same portal... and Pixlriff clearing his inventory of eggs:
"Okay... so do any of those mobs go through the portal?"
Yes and no. Here are the screenshots of Grian's Episode 24 (first 3 minutes):
Do you see it? A fox, pig and chicken feathers in the background!
Now, I'm not sure whether these are coincidences, or Grian purposely littered these as hints. I'm leaning towards the latter, simply because it's very unlikely to have any surface mobs in a cave?
Also, here's a shot where Grian seemed to pan his camera a tad bit unnaturally just for a glimpse of the sleeping fox:
Gemini Tay and False Symmetry are on both servers. Surely they'd drop some hints too?
When Gem first found the "rift" in her Empires Season 2 episode 10, she commented how it was shaded entirely away from the sunshine.
In her Hermitcraft episode 17, she heard reverberations via Grian's rift. It was layered with many other noises, though one of the most obvious words I could make out is:
"...sunshine..."
In False's Hermitcraft episode 28, she approached the rift and was electrocuted.
"Why's that?"
It must be to do with her dual identity. We'll have to wait for False's video for an explanation!
What about the rest of the Hermits?
iJevin once visited this mancave in Episode 22 just to complain the rift's been making... noises. If only he investigated the noises a bit further, you know, like playing it backwards... he might just hear very sausagy words.
"Wait, are you saying--"
Grian attempted to cross the portal himself. He crashed the server (I know, what a surprise) and queried Grumbot about what happened to the rift. This is the mustachio machine's response:
"That's a new keyword: universe!"
Exactly. Since Grumbot doesn't have the answer, Grian asked the portal itself by throwing in a note that reads "New portal who dis".
The biggest hint is during the Empires SMP's Festival.
Oli the bard was singing so ba(r)dly that the entire server shook. Sure enough, it stopped his singing... and dropped him a note?
"That's Grian's message! Does Empires send back a message?"
Yes, they do! fwhip is pretty proud of the response too:
You can say Jimmy is now officially a toy in both Empires and Hermitcraft haha!
Back on Hermitcraft, Grian tried using the portal again. It still crashed the server; however, when he logged back in... he found a note.
"Ouh! What's the note what's the note what's the note???"
Toy Mica Jam is Nifty.
"Uh...what?"
Don't you worry Watson, because I'm Sherlock:
"So it's confirmed then! Hermitcraft and Empires SMP crossover!!!"
Indeed: it's the Minecraft multi-verse! And Marvel thought they have the most ambitious crossover...

At the end of Episode 25, Grian and 12 other hermits decided to cross the rift... and left us on a cliffhanger.

I will not tell you much, but go and watch Sausage's Empires Season 2, Episode 22. Pay attention to his epilogue:
Someone is... no, are... exiting the portal.
Count them, and you'll have 13 entities.
Mind blown?! What's next?
I've composed all my detective work into a video. You know me, it's filled with my usual easter egg styles, hermitcraft.snippets style! This edit took me 6 to 7 hours to make, so every view, comment, reshare etc is greatly appreciated!
