On the 1st of July 2022, a legendary Minecraft YouTuber passed away.
Yes, he is Technoblade.
Who is Technoblade?
Technoblade, real name only to be identified as Alexander, was an American Minecraft YouTuber known for his unbeatable PvP skills.
His incredible feat included (not an exhaustive list):
Winning multiple Minecraft Monday tournaments;
Having 1800+ winning streak in Bedwars (mini-game on Hypixel);
Beating Minecraft hardcore mode with a USB steering wheel;
Winning multiple Minecraft Championships;
Winning Mr Beast's event (PvP against Dream worth $100,000)...
... and many more.
My Story of Technoblade
You might be surprised, but I know Technoblade long before Hermitcraft. I was first introduced to Techno when he teamed up with DanTDM in Minecraft Monday.
Even though Dan's video was only 15 minutes long, I'm impressed at their chemistry and this new youngster's personality. Needless to say, I then committed what every pre-fangirl would do:
Stalk him on the Internet.
Checked his YouTube channel, read as many articles and websites, and the list goes on. Guess what happened next? That's one new subscription!
Now, what do I like about him?
His invincible PvP skills, duh. But! Spamming the weapon is one thing, strategising is another.
Technoblade was great at strategising. In other words, he knew when to attack, when to fall back... and when not to do anything.
At times, he swan-dived into the technicality side i.e. statistics... even if it'd give him a mere 1% competitive edge.
Unlike generic YouTube expositions, Technoblade occasionally referenced his dialogues using educational quotes. Definitely not academic, but informative enough to be entertained.
I remember he once critiqued a Greek mythology impromptu and even used the Pythagoras theorem to justify his Minecraft PvP tactics.
Since he was helmed as the God of War, he frequently quoted Sun Tzu's "Art of War".
Were they accurate quotes? I have no idea. But hey, he pulled them off convincingly. And when his viewers created their own version (meme) of Sun Tzu quotes... *french kiss*
YouTube personality wise...
Technoblade's unique sense of humour was a mix of snarky commentary and satirical remarks, delivered in a deep, monotonous dialogue.
Now that's quite a dichotomy that he executed flawlessly. His broody personality wasn't hampered by any other Minecraft YouTubers he collaborated with, even when the rest were obnoxiously loud and/or childish.
This then became the online brand that distinguished him from the majority of the popular Minecraft YouTubers... And even more so when he mingled with the likes of Dream SMP (or dsmp).
Mind you, I have quite a strong opinion of dsmp. However, I was happy when Technoblade was officially invited to the server, simply because he finally had all the long-deserved attention (and subscription)!
My Story with Technoblade himself.
Impressed by Technoblade's personality, I decided to bring him into my world.
*clears throat* Yes, I mean bringing this character into my Minecraft world. Lo and behold...
Yup, I have a pig named Technoblade. Funny enough, it seems to be aware of its origin and realised it by manifesting one of Technoblade's traits:
Absolute freedom.
In simple English, it escaped. I somehow found this pig in a mountain next to my village:
I led it back to my village, of course. And guess what.
It escaped again.
Again?!
This time, on another mountain, on a precarious ledge:
How did it land up there? No idea.
How is it still alive after falling off several blocks? I. Have. No. Freaking. Idea.
Whatever magic was pulled, it's obvious here.
That's Technoblade to you.
As a tribute, I've created a quick edit on YouTube, featuring the beautiful messages from various Minecraft YouTubers:

So long, Technoblade. Rest in peace.
