What is Call Me By Fire?

This is a music program by MangtoTV, an internet video platform in China. Featuring 32 male celebrities (or "brothers"), they compete in 5 rounds of performances to form a 17-person Family in the Finale.

This program is at its 3rd Season in 2023.

"Who is the oldest and youngest brother?"

The oldest participant of Call Me By Fire Season 3 is Cai Guo Qing at the age of 57 years old.

Meanwhile, the youngest brother is Victor Ma! The American-Chinese singer and rapper is only 27 years old when he joined this renowned music program.

What is the Competition Format?

As mentioned earlier, the brothers compete in 5 rounds of performances to form a 17-person Family in the Finale.

They perform in groups (called "tribes") led by a Tribe Leader. The leader is usually the brother with the highest Audience Favourite vote in the 1st Round.

"Who are the leaders?"

The Tribe Leaders of Call Me By Fire Season 3 are Chen Chu Sheng, Tiger Hu, David Wang, Jimmy Lin, Gem and Jeff Satur.

In general, every tribe performs 1 to 2 songs related to the theme of the particular round. To spice up the competition, some rounds will feature collaboration between tribes... or the disbandment of the least favourite tribes.

"That's so cruel..."

Wait till I explain the format of each round!

Every round is essentially a concert (I mean... you've invited 32 celebrities, so why not???) attended by 1000 public audiences.

These audiences will then vote to determine the ranking of each performance as well as the Personal Favourite ranking of all brothers.

"And... the results?"

The tribes with the lower scores are now in a precarious situation because the brother(s) with the least Personal Favourite vote will be eliminated.

By default, two brothers will be asked to leave the competition per round.

In Round 2, Xu Liang was ranked 27th out of 30 brothers but was still eliminated due to low performance score

"I'm depressed already. Give me some sweet news about this competition please?!"

Okay, okay... If we have the least votes, then naturally we'd also have the highest votes.

The top tribes or performances will be safe from any elimination... with a surprise! The brother who emerged as the top Personal Favourite will be crowned the particular round's MVP... via the MVP Ring!

Sometimes, the MVP will be chosen via other methods, such as internal voting among the brothers.

1. Shin was the only returning member from Season 2. This is different from the program's predecessor, where Season 2 saw four returning members from Season 1.

2. Victor Wong and Nicholas Teo were among the first Malaysians to be invited to this show.

3. Jeff Satur was the second Thai celebrity to participate. The first was Mike D.Angelo in Season 2.
